It was the Klaipeda District Tourism Information Centre that decided to commission the building of a ship in Dreverna based on the 19th–20th century Curonian Lagoon cargo ship model by the famous shipbuilder Jonas Gižas. A similar model is stored at the Jonas Gižas ethnographic homestead in Dreverna. The construction of the ship took place at the Dreverna port. Not only the inhabitants of Dreverna but also all the town’s visitors, were able to observe the birth of an ancient sailing ship from spring to autumn in 2014. The length of 'Dreverna' is 18.08 metres and the width is 4.00 metres. The shipbuilder and captain is Vaidotas Bliūdžius.
