Lifespan: The oldest ringed Common Blackbird was found in Germany: it lived for 21 years; and in Denmark, for 18 years.
Breeding: Breeds mid-March to early September in Europe. The hatch may consist of 2-6 eggs, but usually there are 3 to 4. The incubation period lasts 10-19 days, 13 days on the average. The nest is made of dry grass stems and small twigs, filled with mud and lined with fine herbs. The nests can be found in bushes, trees, cracks in buildings or even on man-made structures.
Appearance: The male is completely black with an orange-yellow beak. The female is light brown with a spotted throat. The young are reddish-brown, brightly spotted.
