Participants will learn about wood shingles as a natural material that was traditionally used for roofing. During the workshop, shingles will be given new life through creativity—on a natural wood surface, participants will create their own colorful works inspired by ethnographic patterns and symbols. The workshop fosters creativity, teaches how to combine colors and patterns, and brings joy to the creative process. The workshop is suitable for all age groups. 

The children will learn about candle-making. They will receive a sheet of beeswax and make their own candle, seeing how a simple material is transformed into a source of light. In addition, they will learn about the traditions of their ancestors—how people used to make candles from beets and other natural materials. This is a fun and creative activity that reveals the joy of creation and the customs of days gone by. The educational program is designed for children. 

During the workshop, children will learn what felt is and how it is made. Each participant will wrap a small bar of soap in colorful wool, creating a soft, beautiful, and fragrant handmade item suitable as a gift or for everyday use. The workshop is designed for children.

During the creative activity, various ornaments, plant, and floral motifs will be created on silk fabric using special paints. A cozy creative workshop inviting you to embroider handkerchiefs with your initials, enjoy a cup of tea, and immerse yourself in the historic manor setting. Participants not only create but also share their experiences, while having the opportunity to hear the manor’s secrets and the countess’s memories.

It is a warm and inspiring experience that combines tradition, creativity, and heartfelt conversation. The workshop is designed for adults. 

During the workshop, participants will learn the wet felting technique. Using natural sheep’s wool, water, and soap, participants will create cozy footwear with their own hands. They will not only learn how to shape a single piece of felt into a slipper, but also discover the thermal and therapeutic properties of wool. Each participant will take home a unique pair of slippers they have felted by hand. The workshop is intended for adults.

During the workshop, participants will learn about the craft of wet felting and create a practical sauna accessory with their own hands using natural sheep’s wool. During the hands-on activity, each participant will use water, soap, and their own hands to felt their sauna hat step by step—from preparing the wool to the final shaping and decoration. Each participant will take home a unique hat they have made with their own hands. The workshop is intended for adults.

During the workshop, participants will learn about traditional straw weaving and binding techniques, develop their attention to detail and patience, discover old ways of using straw, and create their own unique home decorations using natural materials. This workshop is intended for adults.

We invite you to embark on an engaging tour of Volmeriai Manor and its surroundings, where history comes to life through stories and the environment.

During the tour, participants will visit the most important sites on the Vėžaičiai Manor grounds—the stables, the white and red gates, St. Casimir’s Church, the linden tree alley, the wayside shrine, Jėgeris’ House, the brewery, and other significant locations. The stories will reveal details of life at the manor, historical facts, and lesser-known tales shrouded in legend.

Depending on the chosen format, the tour can be led by a guide alone or staged—with ladies and gentlemen strolling through the park, the sounds of music, refreshments, and other elements that allow you to experience the atmosphere of the past even more vividly.

The “Tour of Volmeriai Manor” educational program is an interactive tour for children, during which participants embark on a lively journey through the historic manor park. The tour is led by the “lady of the manor,” who tells fascinating stories, highlights key landmarks, and introduces participants to the manor’s history spanning over 300 years. Children not only listen to stories and explore the sites but also actively participate in activities—the educational experience culminates in a fun Kahoot quiz that helps reinforce their knowledge. The program fosters an interest in history, cultivates creativity, and instills respect for cultural heritage. Registration for the educational program takes place through the “Culture Pass” cultural education program.
