"Melnmuižė" is a family-run homestead near the sea for a peaceful holiday. The owners warmly welcome everyone who likes privacy, a countryside setting, sauna, swimming in the pond, evenings by the fire or by the fireplace crackling in the room, large spaces for your family, the wind, the smell of the sea and the pine trees, cycling trails and an active holiday.

The homestead is just 11 km from Klaipėda, in the seaside regional park, in the ethnographic village of Karkle. As it has long been a kind of ethno-cultural reserve, the homestead is decorated with original handmade weathervanes, spindles and weathervanes, and the apartments are named after the winds. You can stay in the Finnish, Saxon, Nautical, Wakaris, Audenis, Pietvis or Dawn apartments. There is also a separate "Vakarine" apartment by the pond with its own bathhouse, a warm bed after the bath, a bread oven and a fireplace.

The homestead has a small but very cosy three-bath SPA ‘Gero garo!’ with swimming pool.

There is a spacious, large wood-burning sauna, a steam bath with aromas, and a relaxing, low-temperature sauna with a salt brick pillar.

After a sauna, a swim in the pool and an underwater massage, you can relax on the outdoor terrace or on the comfortable beds in the basement's menagerie.

In winter, a live fire in the fireplace adds to the cosiness.

Active leisure

For more active holidays, guests can throw a ball in a basket or cycle or rollerblade to Klaipėda or Palanga. A newly paved cycle path through Karkle can be found outside the farmhouse gate. Klaipėda can be reached from Karkle by bike in 20 minutes (~ 7 km). You can also reach Juodkrante or Nida by ferry. It takes about 1 hour to cycle to Palanga (~19 kilometres) and another 40 minutes to Šventoji (12 kilometres). You'll have a real adventure as the beaches and seaside nature change and the smells are intoxicating.

Horse riding is available in Karkle, or you can make use of Horsemarket's modern horse riding centre in the village of Dargužiai, just 2 kilometres from Karkle.

A world-class golf course with a practice area is located 10 kilometres from Karkle village in Stančiai village, Klaipėda district.
