In the village of Traki, in the Klaipėda region, near Kretingale, grows a spectacular white elm tree that is around 250 years old. It is 6.6 metres in circumference and would take several men to hug it. The white elm lives for 300–500 years; this one is still healthy and vigorous, but it is nearing the end of its lifespan. This tree is listed as a Natural Heritage Site.
