A historical settlement on the border of Lithuania Minor, featuring a stone neo-Gothic style Evangelical Lutheran church. The Catch the Sea Wind (Lith. Pavyk jūros vėją) cycling route stretches through the town, reaching all the way up to Liepaja. The Dovilai Ethnic Culture Centre actively organises calendar holiday celebrations and handicraft schools, prepares thematic folklore programmes and conducts educational activities for children. The town hosts the I Was Raised in Lithuania (Lith. Užaugau Lietuvoj) festival every year.
