Education about mills, their most important parts, and the history of the Kantvainiai mill. During the educational program, participants will receive a colorful workbook, which they can fill out and draw their own mill after hearing the story about mills.
According to a special methodology, participants in the educational program are spontaneously involved in a puppet theater, where everyone has their own role. The actors in the theater do not need to prepare in advance, rehearse, or learn lines. The story tells of everyday life at the mill, interwoven with legends. The children perform with puppets handmade by a folk artist and doll maker, reflecting the clothing of the early 20th century. The theater decorations and the rotating model of Jonas Genys' mill are the work of modeling teacher P. Sungaila. The theater itself is decorated by artist Nomeda with colorful motifs of the world tree and images of mill landscapes, which captivate the children. During the performance, children not only learn about the specifics of puppet theater and have the opportunity to improvise, but also learn about the life of millers and the specifics of the period.
During the educational program, participants will mold a symbolic plate or sign inspired by local culture, natural textures, grains, straw, and stories about the Genio Mill. The educational program combines the history of the Genio Mill in Agluonėnai, ancient symbols, and personal expression. Grain, ears of corn, straw, and imprints will all become part of your personal creation.
Do you know how flour is made? We invite you to a lively, practical, and fun educational event at the Agluonėnai Genius Mill, where everyone will have a unique opportunity to grind grain with stone millstones, hear the story of bread's journey from the field to the table, learn how millstones work and how people ground grain in ancient times, and get to know different types of grain.
During the educational program, children will work with pre-prepared adhesive prints depicting motifs from the Agluonėnai windmill. Children will layer colored sand on a sticky base, carefully creating their own unique picture. During the educational program, children will learn more about the history of the Agluonėnai windmill.
During the educational session, each participant will not only learn how wind "works," but will also create a functioning windmill out of colored plastic and a stick!
