Do you know what the weathervanes were used for? And why are they called ship's crowns? During the educational activity "Dreverna weathervanes - magneto painting" at the ethnographic homestead of J. Gižo, you will solve the mystery of the weathervanes. You will get acquainted with the culture, history and fishing traditions of the Pamari region. You will learn what the ornate weathervanes made by the Pomeranian shipwrights meant and why fishermen were obliged to display them at the top of the mast of their sailboats. You will study a map of weathervane markings and their colours and symbolism. You will paint a wooden piece - the Dreverna weathervane - a magnet to keep as a memory.
