Do you know what the purpose of the weathervane was? And why are they called ship's crowns? During the educational activity "Painting the Dreverna weathervane" you will solve this mystery of weathervanes. You will get acquainted with the culture, history and old fishing traditions of the Pomeranian region. You will learn what the ornate weathervanes made by the Pomeranian shipwrights meant and why fishermen were obliged to display them at the top of the mast of their sailboats. You will study the signs of the weathervane, its colours and symbolism. You will paint a wooden piece - the Dreverna weathervane - a magnet to keep as a memory. While the weathervane is burning, you will go to the Dreverna small ship harbour - visit the weathervane square, the ancient sailing ship "Dreverna" with the Dreverna weathervane raised. From the lookout tower (15 m) you will see the Nagliai Nature Reserve and the surroundings of Dreverna as the giants used to do.

You will study a map of weathervane markings and their colours and symbolism. You will paint a wooden piece - the Dreverna weathervane magnet, which you will keep as a memory. The educational activity is carried out in Klaipėda region.

The educational programme "Fish Path" invites you to the unique Lithuanian seaside settlement of Dreverna, where nature has created favourable conditions for life and fishing business. You will have fun and learn Lithuanian dialect words in the folklore presentation programme "To the fishermen I will go". You will learn about boatbuilding, find out what the old fishing rules were and solve the mystery of the weathervane. From the Dreverna observation tower (15 m), you will have a view of the Dreverna area and the Nagliai Nature Reserve as the giants used to look, according to legend. Set sail and sail into the Curonian Lagoon on the Dreverna, the only one in Lithuania, an impressive historic ancient sailing ship of the Curonian Lagoon. The programme takes place in the warm season (May, June, July, August, September).

From the lookout tower (15 m), you will see the Nagliai Nature Reserve and the surroundings of Dreverna as the giants used to do. And then, with the sails up, you will sail on the only ship of its kind in Lithuania - the historic ancient sailing ship of the Curonian Lagoon - the Dreverna riverboat (with the Dreverna weathervane up). The programme is carried out in the warm season (May, June, July, August, September).

Do you know how to tie a real nautical knot, a lifeline? How many metres of rope are needed for a sailing ship and what are the locks used for? You will learn about all these nautical secrets in the educational activity "Tying a nautical knot on board". You will learn that fishing and seafaring are very much interconnected. We will discover what the ornate weathervanes on the masts of the ships made by the Pomeranian shipwrights meant. Climb the 15 m lookout tower at the Dreverna Small Boat Harbour to see the surroundings of Dreverna, the Nagliai Nature Reserve, and the Weathervane Square as the giants used to look down on them. And the captain will be ready to take you out to the Curonian Lagoon on the ancient sailing ship of the Curonian Lagoon - the Dreverna. Stopping in the middle of the lagoon, you'll become a real crew member - learning how to tie a nautical knot. You will learn the real purpose of nautical knots. You will keep the knot you tie for your memory. The education takes place in the warm season (May, June, July, August, September).
