16. Suspension bridge over the River Minija

Priekulės eldership boasts the only unique cable-stayed bridges in Klaipėda district, connecting the banks of the Minija River. As many as 4 suspension bridges are needed as a means of transport for the inhabitants of Priekule Elderly Municipality. The bridge in the village of Priekule II connects the villages of Voveriškės and Stragnai I. The bridge in Gropiškės connects the inhabitants of the village with Minijos and Parko Streets and Kliošiai Park in the town of Priekule. The suspension bridge connects the village of Dituva with the villages of Butkai and Rokiai. The longest suspension bridge in Lithuania connects the village of Lankupiai with the village of Lankupiai in Šilutė district and other villages along the Minija River. The locals call these bridges monkey bridges. The bridge was built in the second half of the 20th century on the site of a former ferry.
